12/14 Charlie Rich was born
American Country and Western Singer . He began his career while serving in the U.S. Air Force in the early 1950s, but did not have major success until the 70’s when he had a string of number 1 Country and Western Singles Hits including Behind Closed Doors, “The Most Beautiful Girl”, “A Very Special Love Song”, “I Don’t See Me in Your Eyes Anymore” and “I Love My Friend”. “The Most Beautiful Girl” also made number one on the US pop charts.

1966 : The popular Dr. Seuss’ book “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” is made into an animated television special and shown for the first time on CBS. The narrator is the well known Horror movie star Boris Karloff. “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” is one of those programs that when you see it on Television you just know Christmas is not far away.
